4 Generations

My mother passed away on March 4. She turned 90 on February 5. We had a birthday party for her on February 12. She could not keep her eyes off her great grand daughter, who was born on January 23. This is a picture of my mother, my daughter, me and my grand daughter.

While my mother was in the hospital with pneumonia just before she died she delighted in looking at pictures of her great grand daughter as I held them up for her to look at.

The funeral will be held in Chicago, IL on Saturday March 19th. Please read this poem at 1:00pm CST, to help send my mother to heaven.

Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on the snow,
I am the sunlight on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn’s rain.
When you awaken in the morning hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft star that shines at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry.
I am not there. I did not die.

Thanks for being a Rust-Tex.blogspot.com reader.

I share your big pain.
I know we to lose a mother .
Big space is left over and deficiency.

Lovely, lovely photo of all of you. How wonderful her last days were filled with visions of the great grandchild.

Lois, what a lovely photo of the four generations. I am so glad you were able to be together for this. I'm so sorry that your family is going through this difficult time right now. You will be in my thoughts on Saturday. I'll hoist a needle in your honor at Fern Hill.

You are so lucky to have the photograph of four generations. It is an irreplacable memory. We know that we will all pass away, but it is hard to lose a loved one.
I am sorry for your loss, but you have all the memories to keep in your heart.
